WCF Officers WCF Ministry Opportunities WCF Events/Programs WCF Service Projects The Women’s Christian Fellowship and Willing Workers’ Circle are open to all women of the church. In fact, you are encouraged to participate in both if your schedule permits. WCF takes care of “the 2008-2009 Theme
Reach Up (to God)
First we have to establish our “vertical relationship” with the Lord and get ourselves in line so that we can truly love ourselves the way He intends.
Reach In (to our church family)
Then we come to our “horizontal relationships”, that if we love the Lord, we must love others. This year we are focusing on passing the Lord’s love from one generation to another. Find your spot in this process and be part of the blessing!
Reach Out (to our community and beyond)
God’s great love will then naturally also reach out beyond our church family to our world. We are to be the Lord’s hands and feet. What a privilege we have!
Scripture: Psalm 78: 1a,4b
O my people, hear my teaching…
Tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord.
Song: I Will Sing of the Mercies of the Lord Forever
I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever.
I will sing, I will sing.
I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever.
I will sing of the mercies of the Lord.
With my mouth will I make known,
Thy faithfulness, Thy faithfulness.
With my mouth will I make known,
Thy faithfulness to all generations
Kick-Off 2008
Saturday, August 2, 2008, 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
This event was a WONDERFUL way to “kick off” the new year! We were blessed by a wonderful attendance– and willing workers who made this event a reality with their love gifts of time, energy, and resources. There was literally SOMETHING for everyone! We made jewelry, and purses. We decorated flip flops and then we had custom pedicures. We heard about the way Jesus wanted us to serve each other and the way He taught the apostles by washing their feet. Then we had the chance to wash feet as well as have our feet washed– and the chance to reflect on how and when to serve each other. We also had a professional storyteller weave a story for us– and then it was off to lunch AND a style show featuring multi-generations from HCC. What a great way to remind us of our theme: reaching out to the generations! If you missed this one, please be sure to join us for the rest!

Saturday, November 1, 2008, 9:00 a.m.—Noon
Come explore ways to truly ENJOY your Christmas season this year! We will start with a continental breakfast and “food for thought”. Next stop will be the workshops: you won’t believe the variety of talent right here in HCC!
(Be sure to sign up in advance so that the needed materials can be purchased. Some class sizes are limited and only the ones who have signed up in advance will be able to make the craft.)
Then we will end up in the sanctuary for our closing. Hope to see you there! To truly keep Jesus as “the reason for the season” is our goal.
More "Kisses from God"
Saturday, February7, 2009, 7:00 p.m.—9:00 p.m.
Last year we were blessed by two amazing women: Janice Sjostrand led the worship and Elsa Colopy came to share her witness and teach us about how to recognize AND accept God’s kisses. We hope that you will invite ALL of the Christian women you know to join us for another night of blessing this year. More details will be coming soon! Be sure to mark this date on your calendar!

WCF Officers WCF Ministry Opportunities WCF Events/Programs WCF Service Projects
Each month there will be a different service opportunity for the entire congregation to participate in. Some will be REACHING IN to our congregation and some will be REACHING OUT to our community, but all will provide us with the privilege of being the Lord’s hands and feet in some way. The ladies are heading up these projects with much love and we can’t wait to see how our church family responds to these needs.

Uncle Sam may want you, but Rosy NEEDS all of you empty nesters/people without small children to step up and help provide a day of freedom for the young parents to shop or have a date or even take a nap! It will take many hands and many talents to make this a special day for the kids as well! Crafts, food, active areas, songs, and more! Babies and toddlers and pre-teens, oh my!

From Grundy’s web site: “Mountain Mission School is a home for 300 children from toddlers to age 17, located in Grundy, Virginia. Watch for the Angel Tree to appear in the entry.
Dec. 6, 2008 Love Gift to Parents Of Young Children
Rosemary Barboza 323-3221
10:00 a.m.– 4:00 p.m. @HCC
Who would have believed it? A guilt-free day without the kids AND no cost involved?!?!?! You heard it here first! Yes, it’s true! A group of slightly memory-impaired adults has unwittingly volunteered to give parents with small children a day out– or a day in, as they choose to use the time. This phenomenon has been attributed to bouts of Christian love: just what the Lord had in mind for His people. And teens, we are counting on you to help us out too! (“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12 ) This event will require men AND women to participate—and it is NEVER to late to sign up to help with this one!
